redcarpet greatness: eddie redmayne edition.

Eddie Red(anyonethinkitsironicthathe'saginger??)mayne (get it: GingerMan!??) is one that constantly rakes in perfect 10's on his red carpet style strolls. Usually the coolcat is prone to Burberry, since he's Christopher Bailey's main MANho, so I was damn surprised to have caught him in Alexander McQueen F/W Twenty12 last night at the premier of Les How Anne Hathaway Starved Herself To An Oscar Miserables in Manhattan. That suit is pretty damn snazzy. I'm a crackhead for anything blue, so this tickles my broke-college ass superbly. Plus the styling, all McQueen, is spot on. Even the tucking in of the tie is giving me good smokes. I need it all. Hashtag: thiswouldbeonmyxmaslistifiwasanoverpaidretiredamericanpresident.

the oscars and the oscar hussies in their sunday's best.

Oscar's were last night & this is what you need to know:

Ryan Seacrest got Dictator-ed by Lindsay Lohan's drug dealer The Dictator.
Angelina Jolie's right leg was the breakout star of the night.
J. Lo had a case of the "is that her nipple??"'s throughout the event.
The Artist ransacked the Academy for pretty much all of it's Oscars.
Octavia Spencer won Best Supporting Actress. Halelujaaah holler back!
Meryl Streep finally won an Oscar after being nominated year after year for Best Actress.
Billy Crystal was hilarious but needs to sue his plastic surgeon, stat.
The end.

Now, la alfombra roja, for all you non-spanish speakers (for shame!), the red carpet.

Like usual, there were some dresses that shut shit down, ass-face dresses that made you want to stab your eyes out, and then there were the "I have to squint bc I'm not quite sure if my peen likes it" ones too. I'm sure you've heard all the haters and praisers cover the crap out of the redcarpet, so I'm just going to show the ones that I thought were worth looking at due to WHO was wearing them.

OK, but just between me and the 1 person who reads this blog (thanks, Mom!), the hussies in white/cream brutally gave it to me hard with glory so much so that I have unofficially bestowed upon them the honor of being part of my harem- the highest award other than an Oscar.

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji
Roony Mara in Givenchy Haute Couture
... because I have a back festish.
Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford. Actually I don't care for the dress but anyone with an awesome cape is legit in my book.
Milla Jovavich in Elie Saab Couture
... didn't I tell you I have a thing for backs?? HAWT DAYUUM!!
Jennifer Lopes and her peek-a-boo nipple in Zuhair Murad
And now the rest...
Angelina Jolie's Right Leg in Atelier Versace
Penelope-Grace Cruz-Kelly in Armani Privé
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
My current actress crush, Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
The grand and supreme Viola Davis in Vera Wang
Someone's hot grandma, Glenn Close in Zac Posen
Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
Meryl Streep in Lanvin
Natalie Portman in vintage Spring 1954 Christian Dior
Kristen "It's possible for me to look unrecognizably pretty" Wig in J. Mendel
Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera
Oh and because I'm for sure damn man-crushing on these gents,
The Artist director and Best Director Award recipient, Michel Hazanavicius
Best Supporting Actor winner and velvet suit gangstah Christopher Plummer and his equally ravishing wife Elaine Taylor
And that's pretty much the big name listers on the red carpet that night. I swear the crowd this year was very damn blah with many of the high timing usual-suspects missing. Seriously, WhereTF was Charlize Theron, Kate Hudson, Jodie Foster, Sigourney Weaver, Diane Keaton, Hilary Swank, Kate Winslet, Julianne Moore, Renée Zellwegger, Uma Therman, Nicole Kidman, or Julia Roberts?? I mean, I know they weren't all up in the film radar this year but c'mon!!?? It is gracias to their absences that we were subjected with the dislikes of Giuliana Rancic and Stacey Keibler. I'm surprised a Kardashian didn't make it out either. Ay caramba, what is this world turning into? We always have next year, I guess.

Lady Gaga in McQueen at the VMA's = STUNNING!!!!

It's no surprise that when it comes to Gaga, I can't stand when her "creativity" vomits itself onto her outfits. Love her music, hate her fashion costumes- don't get it twisted little monsters! But last night, she kinda wowed me. OK, she TOTALLY wowed me! She looked absolutely stunning in an Alexander McQueen Fall RTW 2010 masterpiece!

The dress is just perfection! The craftsmanship and greatness can be seen in how beautifully it moves and the colors are just so rich and vibrant. But c'mon it's McQueen! Duh! Yet, it's not just about the dress; the hair, the Phillip Treacy headgear, the infamous Armadillo shoes, the... EVERYTHING!! The mixing of tribal and renaissance elements made for such a fantastic visual orgasm! I salute you, Nicola Formechetti!!! The execution is dumbfoundingly perfect. Usually she looks like such an asshole to me but damn it, she DID IT for me!! Tenfold. Well, until I saw that meat dress of hers (but I'm willing to look past it right now- it's not gonna rain on my parade!!).

Oh and whomever the hell did her makeup... CONGRAT-THE FUCK-ULATIONS!!! Dare I say that she looks beautiful in the face? Unfortunately for me, YES!!
I can't believe this is coming out of my mouth but Lady Gaga was absolutely stunning!! Please excuse me while I go lie down. I'm not used to putting Gaga, nice fashions, and beauty together. It's overwhelming.

P.S.
For all of you editorial crazies... this also happens to be the same dress in Gaga's editorial from this months Vanity Fair.

I watched the Emmy's... not dissapointed!!!

The T.V. Oscars Emmy's took place last night and for once I made an effort to sit and watch it unfold. I'm definitely glad I did. The opening number was hilarious, especially the lols I got from the trainwreck that was Kate Gossiling cameo (I still don't think she understands that she's the joke, not part of it) and Betty White shimmying away with Jon Hamm was also splendid. Hah! When it came down to the awards, the only categories that I was fond of was the Comedy and Reality section, typical. I was as lost as one Miss Heidi Montag would be at a Barnes and Noble in the others. I believe for TV to be for nonintellectual slapstick shits and giggles-- the serial killer kililng serial killers, dying cancer man playing meth scientist, and the trials and turmoils of a NYC nurse is just too much for my gentle soul. But to my dismay, I think I'm going to hit up Netflix/hulu/ondemand to see what all the Emmy fuss is all about. As much as I'm infatuated with Glee, Modern Family tickles my fancy even more, so when they nabbed the "outstanding comedy series" award, I almost pulled one of these. So, congratz to them!

Now that my Emmy's kindasortamaybenotreally love is out of the way, lets highlight the most important part of it- the redcarpet. If this year is a testament of years past than I slap myself silly for not tuning in sooner! These Emmysians (which is what THEY reffer themselves as- I think) sure turned it out!! I was thoroughly impressed beyond any of my expectations and here are my favoritos of the evening:

The sultry whites and gold godesses:
Kim Kardashian in Marchesa Resort 2011
Brooke Burke in Mark Zunino
Amber Riley in custom Melissa Masse
Sophia Vergara in Carolina Herrera

The Midnight Blue beauties:
Jayma Mays in Burberry Prosum
Leah Michelle in Oscar De La Renta Resort 2011

Jenna Krakowski in Escada

Dapper in Black babes:
Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward Couture

Susan Sarandon in Donna Karan (which btw, DAAAYUUUMM!!)

Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter in Oday Shakar

Now my "Sexy-can I" hotties:
Maria Menounous in Ralph & Russo
Nina Dobrev in Zahair Murad
Jessalyn Gilsig in Nicole Miller

And now THE BEST DRESSED of the night (it's a tie) crowning winners of redcarpet perfection of the evening:
Dianna Argon in Carolina Herrera Resort 2011
January Jones in Atelier Versace

Oh, and you can't forget about the fellahs:
Modern Family's director, Jason Winer
Glee's director, Ralph Murphy in Tom Ford 2010
Mad Men's Jon Hamm in Giorgio Armani

And the WTF's of the night:
Niya Riviera in Simin
Such a shame because she's one of the most beautiful girls on Glee.
But then again gangstah did recently key her boyfriend's car...

 Mario Lopez
Seriously, homeboy is wearing more facepaint than a Kardashian!

And thus concludes my Emmy's shenanigans. Can't wait for next years and if I missed someone or you have a problem with my likings... then dish it out! Comment, mothalovahs, COMMENT! :P
