And the most coveted cover for THE September issue goes to...

Halle Berry!!!! Although I'm a tiny-tiny bit let down that they didn't give it to a working model (let's take it back to the old days!!) I'm killerly stoked that Halle landed the cover! This September cover will mark the second time a black woman will have graced the most notorious issue of the year for the fashion bible that is American Vogue. And it's been long overdue! How long? Try 21 years! It was back in 1989 that Naomi Campbell broke ground as the first black beauty to land the September issue of said Vogue. This is definitely a step in the right direction! Amen. Looking at the cover shot, I think it's a lovely photo of Halle by Mario Testino but I only wish they would have planned something with more highfashion spunk for her - specifically a full body shot in a killer pose à la Vogue Italia - to mark this legit milestone. But either way I'm satisfied with the cover. Hell even that Wintour-esque bob is doing it for me.

Miss Wintour and Miss Hot Ginge Perfection Coddington, I applaud you!

Color is beautiful!!

Congratulations to Halle! I don't think Vogue US will let up on using Celebs for every issue.

I love Halle and I'm so glad she was featured on the cover of the magazine! However, I 100% agree with you on the lack of edge. Have you seen the editorial that goes along with this? Snooze village, it lacks everything. Anyway, I still love her and Vogue so what can you do?

p.s LOVE your blog so much <3 thanks for all your amazing comments on mine!
