Hmmmmm????

BESS A/W 2009
I'm not going to lie, at first glance I was going to dismiss this lookbook all together - specifically because of the model casting. Seriously, homeboy and homegirl look horribly strung out and in dire need of an immediate intervention. I was concerned. I mean, there's one thing to look heroin-chic and another to... ummm... well... look like THAT↑↑↑!!!! But after my initial disgust set in, I started clicking away and a peculiar thing occurred... the majority of the photos ended up being creepily badass! At the end of the day BESS actually pulled through and delivered some unique and killer styling and fashions. I am honestly impressed and dare I say... addicted?? AbsoMOTHAFUCKINGlutely!!
Here are the highlights:

t1mepeace by Julia Reytan:

Jewelery designer Denise Reytan created the t1mepeace watch to encourage the wearer to forget about time and enjoy life. The concept took the form of a watch that is made from a cut piece of stainless steel. The limited edition design comes in silver, gold and grey in both polished and semi-gloss finishes. The cut design in the steel is reminiscent of the early digital watches, with a small display and two button’s on the side. I'm definitely all over this!!! The design is bold enough to be unisex and you best bet that I'm getting my hands on one asap! This is too dope not to rock! For sure.

Hey Ya done right by Ted from Scrubs...

BTW, yes... that's actually Sam Loyd (who plays Ted in Scrubs) singing- it's a cover of a cover and was recorded specifically for the show. I was completely stunned by the calibre of his singing genius! Surprisingly & breathtakingly awesome. And the dash of love spread throughout the segment made me melt even more.

This 8 Year Dresses Better Than You!!!

While reading this months editon of GQ, little Arlo Weiner became my hero. The 8 year old from LA has more style than anyone I know. His Oliver Twist meets Royal Tenebaums look is original and captivating, fillled with top hats, striped bow ties, crushed velvet jackets, madras pants, ascots, and all types of plaid ensembles. The kid is soo fresh to death, mixing and matching bright colors and patterns in an adventurous yet stylin’ manner. The kid is definitely a budding fashionisto and I only pray that my kids are as legit as he is one day.

Here are some of his looks and his descriptions:

"This is my Valentine’s Day outfit. The jacket and the pants are velvet. I love the tie because it’s really two ties stacked on top of each other. (My dad had to tie it for me.) The pink tie matched the pink shirt. I wore brown-and-white argyle socks for a random pattern."

"I have a lot of black outfits these days, so I needed the red ascot to add some color. I love red and black together—they each make the other stand out. I’ve worn this to school about 12 times."

"The hat is like a Frank Sinatra hat. I wore the jacket with the tie because green and gray are my favorite blend. I’m holding my dad’s bag in the picture, but at school I use my dad’s old brown leather satchel."

"This is my favorite outfit. The tie is a regular tie, but I tied it like that because I’ve seen it done that way in old English movies. Even though the tie and the jacket are different colors, they’re both striped, so I thought they looked right together. And I wore the vest and pants together because they’re both shades of red."

What's Your Position?

Daniel Loves Objects is the mastermind behind these D-O-P-E lighting fixtures. Not only are they creative, stylish, and legit...but the gold plated mannequins can be fixed into any position you desire. Oh the possibilities! Haha.

Eu de Toilette Genius!

"Antidote is a magic potion that transforms negative into positive and evokes joy, wonder, love and success."
-Victor&Rolf

Signature Keys

One of my favorite accessories to rock is that of my single-key-necklace. I find it to be an eye-catcher and adds an extra edge to any plain t-shirt or v-neck. It has definitely become one of my signature traits. So when I came across designers Alex & Chloe's new Fall 2009 Tar Collection, I had to feature it....it was meant to be.

Guilty Pleasure

Amber Rose, the video vixen for the likes of Luda and Young Jeezy (to name a few), has recently been living in the limelight as she has been parading around with lover-Kanye West at various bars and fashion shows. Even though some aren't big fans of her and her gold-diggin' ways, I think she's D-O-P-E!!! Purely based on her get-ups. Homegirl has a keen, eclectic and unique sense of style filled with skintight garments, stylin' stunnas, and ferosh footgear. Definitely one to be on the watch for. But for some reason why do I have a feeeling that Kanye is the man behind her bangin' outfits? Whatever the case maybe, I'm a fan.
