shinola detroit opens up shop in san francisco with a shindig!

Shinola Detroit is on the fast track of becoming a bonafide mecca for all great things American! Quality Made in America watches, leather goods, and even a thing or two for your doggie amigo, Shinola is the place to go! So the fact that they opened up a new location in my beloved San Francisco has made me happier than Hillary Clinton at a Power Suit Emporium! Fortunately enough, I was able to attend their Grand Opening Party and seeing all their products handsomely set up all throughout their incredible store space was something else! Everywhere you looked there was something rugedly pristine to ogle over-no wonder Mr. Obama digs the place, too!

I'm obsessed over their time-pieces! There's no other way to put it. I came in full stalker mood and zoned in on them as soon as I entered their 722 Montgomery Place location! Knowing that they're meticulously designed & hand-assembled in their Detroit factory with the majority of their components, like the rubber & leather straps, sourced from U.S. companies has fueled my #mancessory craze. And they didn't fail me in person which is more than I can say for my tinder date!

What beauties, huh? My piggy-bank has gone into hiding since it knows I'm two seconds away from committing capital murder on it. #MUSTHAVEONEASAP! But alas, trying one on in-store will have to do for now.

Aside from having awesome products to make you go into an Industrial Americana coma, Shinola treated us with lite bites, libations (they even had their own Shinola Cola!), but most importantly they had a dynamic team that were incredibly welcoming. Way to go, Shinola Detroit!

Here's the lowdown on the shindig:

Thanks, Shinola Detroit for an awesome opening shindig & welcome to SF!

Visit Shinola Detroit in SF at 722 Montgomery Place or for more products and a location near you (they have 13 altogether) check them out ☞ here!

Peace, Mothalovahs!

brown leather boots; 'tis always the season!

Brown leather boots, plain and simple: they're a must for all gents! Trust level: 12. Whether they're in Brogues, Cap Toe, or in a Desert style, they're your best bet for sartorial awesomeness. I know the fellahs usually save them for the fall months but these badboys have so much style-versatility that you can stomp in them all year round. I personally James Bond mine up in a suit for work and then dress them down during my Sunday Funday MAN-mosa (1.5 oz Vodka, 16 oz. Hefeweizen, topped off with some O.J.) shenanigans in jeans/khakis. Plus, they ad an extra inch or two & what gentleman doesn't want that? I know there's a dirty joke in there somewhere.

Still confused on the various styles? Don't you fret, motherlovah. I've selected a few to get your juices flowing.

Desert Boot:

The Bushacre 2 by Clarks, $84.99

Derby Boot:
The Laudias by Aldo, $87.50

Cap Toe:
The Smash Bash by Kenneth Cole via Nordstrom, $129.90

Brogue/Wingtip Boot:
Aberdeen by 1901 Nordstrom, $140.00

There really is no reason why you shouldn't invest in one or all of them of these badboys. Truth be told, you could probably get away with wearing one pair repeatedly & no one would know because they'd be more focused on how dapperly badass you always look. Get. Some!

Peace, Mothalovahs!

saint laurent = my dark and twisted dreams!

Lately I've been drawn to the darkside, which is weird since 1) I'm usually all about crazy colors and patterns and 2) I've never ever been the same since watching The Craft when I was in middle school so the last thing I want to do is remind myself how terrified I am of psycho Nancy! But damn it, when Hedi Slimane makes such awesomely dark creations for Saint Laurent Fall 2014, you gotta howl at the moon! It is October after all and if ever there were a month to be haunted it would be now! So for now, I guess I'll give into my dark and twisted dreams!!

Here are some of my favorite conjured badboys that are currently being curated over at Farfetch.com!

Square Print Shirt:

Contrast Sewatshirt:

 Snakeskin Print Shirt:

Sleeveless Biker Jacket:

Buckled High Top Sneaker:

I'm definitely thinking it's a piratescult-life for this chap... but definitely not the death Koolaid kind, I'm thinking more like Skull and Bones... what's up, George W. Bush & hello, future illuminati membership!! :)

paisley + flowers = I need this MSGM sweatttteerrrrrrrr!!!

Living in San Francisco, we get our unfair share of windy and gray days during the summer. But it's never insanely cold that you need something heavy. Instead a nice light comfortable sweater that will keep you from shaking like a polaroid picture will do just fine. But you also need something joyous that feeds into the awesomeness that is summer. Without further adieu, let me introduce you to this radtastic MSGM Floral and Paisley Print Sweater from Farfetch!

Coming right after my last post, I'm on a print and #FLOBRO jive & this mashup of paisley and floral just adds fuel to that fire. For some, I know it may be a bit loud but hey, it's summer time and it's the perfect time to venture into something funkier and fresh!

Btw, head on over to FARFETCH.COM asap!! Not only do they have a ridiculous selection of designer goods but they're currently having an insane sale featuring over 2,000 designers!! Get some!

editorial files: surrealist funkiness for fhm collections china s/s 2014!

FHM Collections China dipped into the Burberry Prorsum & Walter van Beirendonck Spring/Summer 2014 menswear pool for an editorial in their current mag circulation. If I hadn't been so hungover during my freshman year Art History 101 course, I could tell you if this was based on  surrealism or cubism but instead what I could tell you is that my brain is translating it all as fashion-art-turnt-up-ism!!

Ford Models Agency better nab that Mirror Sculpture because homeboy is stealing all the shots in this shoot! Seriously, I haven't seen anyonething give as much boss face as it has!

The clothing themselves are an example of pretty genius styling with the combo packing of pastel hues with deep blues, yellows, and greens. I'm especially digging the outerwear game- all though it begs me to ponder if this shoot is more for Fall inspiration than anything else. All together it's just awesome to get into a fashion surrealist day dream, so gracias FHM COLLECTIONS CHINA for getting my artsy fartsy on! :)

the summer blaze is here... time for some effortless cool x bershka and primark!

The sunny blaze is upon us and it's time to look the part! In the fall & winter I like a more dapper sartorial look but when it comes to summertime I go into a bohemian hipster (sans the nasty PBR long cans!) stupor.

I like fun, easy, and flowy mensgear that I can wear during all my summer shenanigans-whether it be to an impromptu skinny dipping sesh and then to a tapas bar right afterwards, I want a multifunctional effortless cool. So if it's floral, tye-dye, Hawaiian, bold patterned in a hazy-pastel-like hue (the only thing that should be LOUD and BRITE is the sun!) you bet your motherlovin' self that I'll be all over it.

Luckily both Berksha and Primark have created summer/spring collections to feed my hunger for vagabond hipster coolness.

First up:  BERSHKA

Second up: PRIMARK

Happy summer shenanigans, motherlovahs!
